The Dark Knight Warner Bros.

Rumors have been swirling about what Warner Bros. is going to do with their mountain of DC superheroes in the wake of Marvel's dazzling success with "The Avengers," but the studio has backtracked on Will Beall's script and may be unable to reach their 2015 release date for "Justice League."

Or can they? The (frequently correct) rumor mongers over at Latino Review have just posted a video claiming to have inside info that the masterminds behind this summer's "Man of Steel" (Christopher Nolan, Zack Snyder, David Goyer) will be taking the reigns of the entire DC Universe, with Snyder directing Justice League and… *drumroll* Christian Bale returning as Batman!

Back in November, we ran a hot story that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was going to pick up where "The Dark Knight Rises" left off by donning the cape and cowl, but if recent reports of the Henry Cavill-starring "Man of Steel" testing through-the-roof means Warners has utmost confidence that Nolan and company can keep delivering billion-dollar movies for them.

A "Justice League" film has had a long, tortured history at Warners, with George Miller coming frighteningly close to helming a big-budget version starring Armie Hammer as Bats, and directors as varied as The Wachowskis, Ridley Scott and Ben Affleck have all passed on the project more recently. Hopefully this (old) new creative lineup can bring Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash and all the other DC stalwarts to the screen in grand fashion.
